Lumen was created as a meditation on light, movement, and quiet endurance — a reminder that not all strength announces itself.

Inspired by the jellyfish, one of the ocean’s most ancient forms of life, this piece embodies fluidity and calm presence. The body is formed from an upcycled serving bowl and metal fruit basket, reshaped to create a drifting, translucent form. Spoons and utensil handles are welded downward to form the tentacles, giving the sculpture a sense of motion even at rest.

Custom airbrushing introduces vibrant layers of color that interact with the integrated LED lighting, allowing Lumen to shift in mood and depth as the light moves through it. The result is a living interplay of color and glow — subtle, atmospheric, and immersive.

Designed to be either wall-mounted or displayed on a surface, Lumen adapts to its environment, echoing the jellyfish’s ability to move effortlessly between currents. Built entirely from reclaimed materials, the piece transforms objects once meant to serve into a source of illumination and presence.
