Shipping policy

Shipping at a Glance

TheeUpCycler ships within Canada, the United States, and internationally to destinations where shipping is reasonably available and lawful.

All purchased items are shipped with tracking unless otherwise specifically stated. Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information so you can follow your shipment through delivery.

Shipping and delivery times are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing. Delays can occur due to weather, customs, border processing, carrier disruptions, remote delivery locations, labour disputes, holidays, transportation issues, natural disasters, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Because many TheeUpCycler creations are handmade, one-of-a-kind, large, heavy, or unusually shaped, some orders may require freight service, crating, palletization, specialized handling, or a scheduled delivery appointment.

Shipping Address & Contact Information

Please make sure your shipping address and contact information are complete and accurate at checkout.

Customers are responsible for providing:

  • The correct delivery address
  • The correct postal or ZIP code
  • A valid email address
  • A working telephone number where required by the carrier
  • Any important delivery instructions or access information

TheeUpCycler is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, additional charges, or returned shipments caused by incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information supplied by the customer, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

If you discover an address error before your order ships, please contact us as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed once an order has entered the shipping process.

Shipping Within Canada

TheeUpCycler ships throughout Canada where carrier service is available.

Canadian orders may be subject to applicable federal and provincial sales taxes. Delivery times vary depending on destination, carrier service, weather, remote-area delivery, and other transportation conditions.

Shipments to rural, northern, or remote locations may require additional transit time or specialized carrier service.

Large, heavy, or oversized artwork may require freight service, palletization, crating, delivery appointments, or specialized handling.

Shipping to the United States

TheeUpCycler ships to the United States where carrier service and importation are reasonably available.

U.S. shipments may be subject to customs processing, import duties, tariffs, taxes, brokerage charges, clearance fees, or other charges depending on the shipment value, product classification, destination, and applicable laws in effect at the time of import.

Unless specifically collected at checkout or otherwise stated, import-related charges assessed on a U.S. shipment are the responsibility of the recipient.

Customs and import requirements can change. TheeUpCycler does not control U.S. customs authorities, tariff classifications, duty rates, or carrier brokerage charges.

Customers are responsible for providing any information reasonably required from the recipient for customs clearance.

Large, heavy, or oversized artwork shipped to the United States may require freight service, palletization, crating, customs documentation, delivery appointments, or specialized handling.

International Shipping

TheeUpCycler ships internationally to destinations where shipping is reasonably available and lawful.

Customers ordering outside Canada are responsible for ensuring that the purchased item may legally be imported, possessed, and used in the destination country.

International shipments may be subject to:

  • Import or customs duties
  • Tariffs
  • VAT
  • Sales or consumption taxes
  • Brokerage charges
  • Customs clearance fees
  • Inspection or storage fees
  • Other government, customs, postal, freight, or carrier charges

Unless specifically stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are not included in the purchase price or shipping charge paid to TheeUpCycler.

Any applicable import charges are the responsibility of the recipient except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Customs & Border Clearance

International shipments, including shipments to the United States, may be inspected, opened, delayed, or held by customs or border authorities.

TheeUpCycler does not control customs processing and cannot guarantee customs-clearance times.

Customers are responsible for providing any identification, tax number, import number, documentation, or other information reasonably required from the recipient by the destination country, carrier, or customs authority.

Failure to provide required information may result in delays, storage charges, additional fees, or return of the shipment.

TheeUpCycler is not responsible for delays caused solely by customs, border authorities, carrier clearance procedures, or the customer's failure to provide required import information, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Duties, Taxes, Tariffs & Import Fees

Duties, tariffs, VAT, taxes, brokerage charges, and import fees assessed by the destination country are generally payable by the customer unless specifically stated otherwise.

These charges are not controlled by TheeUpCycler and may vary substantially by country or change without notice.

We recommend that international customers review the import requirements of their destination country before ordering if they are unsure what charges may apply.

If applicable import charges are collected by Shopify, a carrier, or another provider during checkout, they will be shown as part of the transaction where applicable.

Refused or Unclaimed International Deliveries

Refusing a shipment, failing to collect it, failing to cooperate with customs, or refusing to pay applicable duties, tariffs, taxes, or import charges does not automatically cancel the order.

Where permitted by law, if the shipment is returned to TheeUpCycler, any refund otherwise available may be reduced by costs actually incurred, including:

  • Original shipping
  • Return shipping
  • Brokerage fees
  • Customs charges
  • Duties or tariffs charged back to us
  • Storage fees
  • Carrier charges
  • Other reasonable costs associated with the failed delivery

Any applicable restocking fee will be governed by our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.

Custom, commissioned, personalized, and made-to-order items may remain non-returnable.

International Consumer Rights

Customers outside Canada may have mandatory consumer rights under the laws of their country or region.

Nothing in this Shipping Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or waive a mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, or waived.

Where applicable consumer law conflicts with this Shipping Policy, mandatory legal rights will take priority.

European Union Customers

Customers located in the European Union may have mandatory consumer rights that apply to online purchases.

Where applicable EU consumer law provides a statutory right of withdrawal, eligible customers may generally have 14 days after receiving goods to notify us that they wish to cancel an eligible purchase.

Certain products, including goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalized goods, may be excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal where permitted by applicable law.

Because many TheeUpCycler products are custom, commissioned, personalized, or made-to-order, these exclusions may apply.

If a valid statutory withdrawal applies, the customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods where the customer was informed of that responsibility before purchase.

Where required by applicable law, the price paid and the cost of standard outbound delivery will be refunded. Additional amounts paid for premium or expedited delivery may not be refundable beyond the cost of standard delivery.

Where permitted by law, reimbursement may be withheld until the returned goods are received or acceptable evidence of return shipment is provided.

The customer may be responsible for diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Nothing in this policy restricts mandatory EU consumer rights relating to defective, damaged, misrepresented, or non-conforming goods.

United Kingdom Customers

Customers located in the United Kingdom may have statutory cancellation and return rights for eligible online purchases.

Where applicable UK consumer law provides cancellation rights, eligible customers may generally have 14 days after receiving goods to notify us of cancellation and an additional period provided by applicable law to return the goods.

Custom-made, personalized, and certain other goods may be excluded from statutory cancellation rights where permitted by law.

Where UK consumer law provides mandatory rights that conflict with this Shipping Policy, those mandatory rights will take priority.

Other International Customers

Customers in other countries may have mandatory rights relating to delivery, defective goods, cancellations, refunds, warranties, or returns.

Nothing in this Shipping Policy is intended to waive any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

Tracking Your Order

Tracking information is provided for shipped orders where tracking is available.

Carrier tracking updates are controlled by the carrier and may not always update immediately or accurately in real time.

A tracking scan showing that a shipment has been delivered may be used as evidence of delivery.

If tracking appears incorrect, delayed, or unusual, please contact us so we can help review the shipment where reasonably possible.

Delivery Responsibility

Please monitor your tracking information and make reasonable arrangements to receive your shipment.

Where legally permitted, once a carrier confirms delivery to the shipping address provided by the customer, TheeUpCycler is not responsible for theft, loss, weather exposure, unattended parcels, or other events occurring after confirmed delivery.

This does not affect mandatory consumer rights or situations where the shipment was delivered to an incorrect location through no fault of the customer.

Missed Deliveries

Customers are responsible for responding to carrier delivery notices, pickup requests, customs requests, and delivery appointment requests.

If a shipment is returned because the customer failed to collect it, failed to respond to the carrier, failed to provide required information, or was unavailable for a required delivery appointment, additional shipping, handling, storage, or redelivery charges may apply where permitted by law.

Large, Heavy & Oversized Artwork

Some TheeUpCycler pieces may require freight delivery rather than standard parcel delivery.

Freight shipments may involve:

  • Crates or pallets
  • Liftgate service
  • Commercial freight terminals
  • Scheduled delivery appointments
  • Specialized carriers
  • Curbside delivery
  • Other special arrangements

Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, freight delivery does not automatically include:

  • Inside delivery
  • Unpacking
  • Assembly
  • Installation or placement
  • Crane or forklift service
  • Removal of crates, pallets, or packaging

Customers purchasing large or oversized artwork are responsible for ensuring that suitable access, equipment, and assistance are available to receive and safely move the artwork after delivery.

Before ordering large artwork, please consider driveway access, road restrictions, gates, stairs, elevators, doorways, loading areas, weight restrictions, and any other conditions that could affect delivery.

Additional carrier charges caused by difficult access, incorrect delivery information, failed delivery attempts, redelivery, storage, or special handling may be the responsibility of the customer where permitted by law.

Shipping Damage

Please inspect your shipment as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, contact TheeUpCycler promptly and provide:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the artwork
  • Photos of the exterior packaging
  • Photos of the interior packaging
  • Photos of the shipping label
  • Photos of any crate or pallet
  • Clear photographs showing the damage

IMPORTANT: DO NOT DISCARD THE PACKAGING.

Shipping carriers may require the original packaging, crate, pallet, or damaged item to remain available while a claim is investigated.

Do not return a damaged shipment without instructions from TheeUpCycler.

Approved damage claims will be handled in accordance with our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy and applicable consumer law.

Lost Shipments

If tracking does not show delivery and a shipment appears to be lost, please contact us.

We may need to open an investigation or claim with the carrier before determining the appropriate resolution.

Carrier investigations, customs investigations, and international postal investigations may take time to complete.

We will work with the carrier and customer in good faith to resolve confirmed lost shipments in accordance with applicable law.

Shipping Delays

Shipping and delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

We are not responsible for reasonable delays caused by circumstances outside our control, including:

  • Severe weather or wildfires
  • Natural disasters
  • Customs or border delays
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Carrier service interruptions
  • Strikes or labour disruptions
  • Government action
  • Remote delivery conditions
  • Other extraordinary circumstances

Where applicable consumer law provides a specific remedy for excessive delay or failed delivery, those rights remain unaffected.

Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are calculated based on factors such as destination, dimensions, weight, carrier service, packaging requirements, and whether freight or specialized handling is required.

Large sculptures and unusually shaped items may require a custom shipping quote.

If additional freight or shipping arrangements are required after checkout because of the size, weight, destination, or delivery requirements of an item, we may contact you before shipment to discuss the available options and any additional costs.

Any additional charge requiring customer approval will be communicated before the affected shipment proceeds.

Returns & Shipping Costs

Return eligibility is governed by our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Customers may be responsible for return shipping costs for approved returns unless the return results from an error by TheeUpCycler, a covered defect, shipping damage, or another circumstance where applicable law requires us to bear the cost.

International customers are responsible for properly completing return customs documentation.

TheeUpCycler is not responsible for duties, taxes, or customs charges incorrectly assessed because a return shipment was improperly declared by the sender.

Custom, Commissioned & Made-to-Order Artwork

Custom, commissioned, personalized, and made-to-order artwork may have different shipping arrangements due to its size, value, construction, or destination.

Shipping methods, freight arrangements, insurance, crating, delivery requirements, and related costs may be established as part of the individual project agreement or quote.

Custom and commissioned items may be final sale and deposits may be non-refundable as described in our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations Policy and Terms of Service.

Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
