Meet the Artist

David McAuley, founder of TheeUpcycler, is a Canadian metal artist transforming discarded materials into one-of-a-kind works of art that spark conversation, emotion, and purpose. Born in Edmonton and raised in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, David’s creative journey began with a hands-on passion for building, repurposing, and seeing possibility where others saw waste.

What started as small creations from nuts, bolts, and salvaged materials evolved into breathtaking sculptures and signature propane tank lanterns crafted from recycled cutlery, metal, and industrial remnants. Every piece tells a story of resilience, transformation, and the beauty that can emerge from what’s been overlooked.

David’s work has earned international recognition for its originality, craftsmanship, and emotional depth, while his mission remains deeply rooted in sustainability, accessibility, and inspiring others to dream bigger. Through TheeZoo gallery, public art, and custom commissions, he continues to push the boundaries of upcycled art while proving that creativity can redefine both materials and lives.

At TheeUpcycler, art isn’t just made, it’s rescued, reimagined, and brought back to life.
