Drake was created as a symbol of adaptability — the ability to remain buoyant, composed, and unmistakably oneself while moving through changing environments.

Formed from upcycled spoons, Drake floats in a relaxed, steady posture. Butter knife blades are reshaped into tail feathers, adding structure and direction behind the softness of the form. The head is built from welded wire, with a spoon handle forming the beak — a balance of delicacy and intent that gives the piece both character and calm confidence.

Designed to hold candles, Drake carries light while appearing effortless, resting on the surface rather than pressing against it. There is ease in his position — a sense that he knows exactly where he belongs.

Over time, Drake has become more than a sculpture. He has travelled with his creator to numerous locations throughout North America, crossing borders, drawing curiosity, and occasionally ruffling the feathers of border security agents along the way. At one point, he even went missing — only to return, carrying yet another chapter in his story.
