This marlin was formed from upcycled spoons and kitchen knives, with a reclaimed sharpener shaping the bill and a serving tray transformed into the tail. From the beginning, the form was complete — powerful, balanced, and full of movement. Yet the final step remained untouched for nearly two years.

The hesitation was not uncertainty, but respect.

The vibrant blues and yellows, applied through custom airbrushing, were only added when the moment felt right. What emerged was not just color, but release — the tension between motion and restraint finally resolved. The piece rises from an ocean-floor base, grounding the energy above in stillness below.
