About Me

Meet the man behind the fork.

Hi, I’m David…

I was born in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Wetaskiwin. Growing up, I could be found dismantling anything I could get my hands on. However, my creative mind required no instruction; I built things as my mind saw them and was fascinated by the construction industry.

Throughout my career, I worked in various industries before opening my first business, Vivid Customs. After that, I owned landscaping, oilfield servicing, and even transportation businesses. Despite what I was doing, I loved having the ability to use my creative flair for each job.

In 2018, I struggled through some personal obstacles and decided to hire a life coach. To help cope with the struggle of my healing journey, I made small creations out of nuts and bolts and later moved on to cutlery. I soon realized I could create incredible pieces of art that would become interesting conversational pieces. Thus, TheeUpCycler was born.

Thanks for visiting!

David Mcauley

David’s creativity shines through his work, and you can see that each piece is created with pride. This pride is shown exceptionally well in his TheeZoo display in his workshop. Here, David creates sustainable pieces made from recycled items such as cutlery and turns them into art and flowers. Using social medial, David hopes to encourage artists of all ages to tap into their creative skills and step outside of their comfort zones because you never know what that fork could become.

My Mission

By using discarded objects, I can reduce my environmental footprint and inspire others to find beauty in the items that are often overlooked or quickly discarded while also using my creative vision in a way that nurtures the human spirit.
